WOW! I Highly Recomend this film! It is probably the best film of 1982. It was eye opening and amazing! A Polish contractor, Nowak, leads a group of workmen to London so they can provide cheap labor for a government official based there. Nowak (Irons) has to manage the project and the men as they encounter the tempations of the West and loneliness and separation from their families. Nowak is the only one of the group who speaks English, and he uses this as a tool over his team. When the unrest in Poland leads to a military takeover, Nowak is faced with a much more difficult situation than he expected. Not only is this film interesting, but it is scary. It's not a horror, but you will be sitting there scared for the character. It is an Impactful film that no one has heard of or seen. It is very much Underrated. Even though the DVD is advertised as Full Frame 4:3, it is not. It's in a clear 1:85.1 16:8 Enhanced Widescreen presentation. English subititles included. This Film Is one of my favourites for it's amazing acting, script, subject matter and that it is very effective. By the end you'll be saying "Woah!"
