Audrey Woods and Daniel Rafferty are the best divorce lawyers in New York - neither has ever lost a case. She is serious and by-the-book, he is laid-back and unorthodox. So when they are pitted against one another in a nasty public divorce between two celebrity clients, it's a court case quite like no other. This is a downright dirty and delicious match up and, along with insults, sparks are going to fly.

But after a flying visit to Ireland to gather evidence and too many pints at the local pub, the pair can't seem to resist their mutual attraction and wake up as husband and wife - and that's without any kind of pre-nuptial agreement! Just how Audrey and Daniel move to strike this "technicality" and win their respective cases is anyone's guess, but it's bound to be a legal first!

I was disappointed in this movie - had come to expect such a high standard from Brosnan with his Bond movies and "The Thomas Crown Affair" that this movie was a let down. The plot is one dimentional and obvious plus Brosnan never really seems comfortable acting a romantic role. I would not recommed.

The plot is very simple. A quirky rocky star, Thorne Jamison (Michael Sheen), is continuously arguing with his wife Serena (veteran actor Parker Posey) and their rancorous relationship have turned into a divorce. Attorney Daniel Rafferty (Pierce Brosnan) represents Serena and attorney Audrey Woods (Julianne Moore) represents Jamison. There are a number of places in this movie where the plot drags. The conflict between Jamison and Serena is only rarely funny. However, when Moore and Brosnan interact in the courtroom and the bedroom the results are frequently funny. There is a lot of chemistry between these two that I enjoyed after getting over having recently seen all four of Brosnan's Bond films. There are a number of other good romantic comedies about attorneys, and this one breaks little in the way of new ground, but I found myself enjoying it as a light romantic comedy

I really did like this movie. Pierce Brosnan's comedy skills have been seen in past movies such as The Matodor and starred in Mrs Doubftfire, one of the greatest comdeis of our time. And Jullieanne Moore is just plain funny. Great Film and really shos you that Divorce is a last option. TRIVIA: The director of this film (Peter Howitt) is Daniels client at the strt of the film sitting in the court room next to him.

Peirce Brosnan & Julieanne Moore make a handsome couple as competing divorce lawyers who fall for one another in this rom com... it's not the tightest story around, but the two talented leads carry the film for the duration; however, it's not a classic by any stretch of the imagination... worth a look on a rainy Friday evening...
