Wales' best detectives are back in the Hinterland for a stunning Second Series.

Aberystwyth's panoramic vistas hide a multitude of sins and it is DCI Tom Mathias' job to investigate and hunt down the perpetrators of crimes that jeopardise the safety and security of the local community.

EPISODE 1: Our troubled detective is forced to return to the frontline after an arson attack on an isolated farmhouse leaves a mother and child fighting for their lives.

EPISODE 2: Mathias is under pressure; Meg Mathias his wife has turned up in Aberystwyth and he's under investigation by the IPCC following the death of Mari Davies in the last episode.

EPISODE 3: The murder of a local dignitary and barrister Owen Beynon leads to the uncovering of a tragic story of love and loss fuelled by mistrust suspicion in the depths of the Hinterland.

EPISODE 4: The disco very of a body in the remote lake leads Mathias and the team to investigate the complicated private life of missing schoolteacher Greta Pritchard.

EPISODE 5: The tension is mounting in the series two finale. DCI Mathias must solve the case of the murdered local man Aron Bowen, but to do so he will have to deal with feuding family members and the dead man's run-away daughter.
