Collection of four romantic comedies. In 'Dave' (1993), when a cynical US President suffers a near fatal heart attack while in the arms of his mistress, a small town lookalike, the genial Dave (Kevin Kline), is called upon to act as his double. The doppelganger brings an innocent vitality to his new job, and begins to call the shots, much to the displeasure of the power-hungry politician who intends to use him as his stepping stone to the Presidency. Meanwhile, the President's wife (Sigourney Weaver) is at first suspicious and then charmed by the unexplained transformation in her estranged husband's character. In 'Mickey Blue Eyes' (1999), Hugh Grant stars as Michael Felgate, an Englishman working at an upmarket auction house in New York. He falls in love with Gina Vitale (Jeanne Tripplehorn), a schoolteacher from Queens, and proposes to her. However, Gina refuses to get married as she fears that Michael will be corrupted by her gangster father Frank (James Caan). Michael is determined to change Gina's mind, sets out to meet Frank and is soon charmed by the mobster. It is only a matter of time before the hapless Brit is passing himself off as deadly assassin Mickey Blue Eyes. In 'Miss Congeniality' (2000), when the Miss United States beauty pageant receives a threat from a notorious criminal, hardnosed FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) is assigned to go undercover as a contestant in the competition and track him down. Gracie is none too happy about this, and when top expert Victor Melling (Michael Caine) arrives to help transform her from a tomboy into a convincingly elegant Miss New Jersey, she proves to be a most difficult student. Nevertheless, after Gracie enters the pageant, she soon forms a strong bond with her fellow contestants, and begins to worry for their safety as the killer continues to elude arrest. Finally, in 'Doc Hollywood' (1991), Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) is an ambitious East Coast plastic surgeon who leaves his home in Washington for a life of riches in California. On the way west he crashes his car in the small town of Grady, and is resentfully obliged to stay there whilst his vehicle is being repaired. As the town doesn't have a doctor, Stone is soon roped in for medical help, and finds himself strangely enjoying the simpler pleasures of small-town existence.
