Four friends hung a dreamcatcher in their cabin. It's about to catch something it cannot stop.

"Dreamcatcher" tells the story of four young friends who perform a heroic act - and are changed forever by the uncanny powers they gain in return. Years later, on a hunting trip in the Maine woods, they are overtaken by a blizzard, a vicious storm in which something much more ominous moves. Challenged to stop an alien force, the friends must first prevent the slaughter of innocent civilians by a military vigilante, then overcome a threat to the bond between them. In the end, they confront an unparalleled horror, with the fate of the world in the balance.

Synopsis

Pete, Jonesy, Beaver and Henry have been friends since childhood and share a very special bond - they can read each other's thoughts. They've been empowered with this mysterious telepathic gift ever since they saved a little kid from schoolyard bullies. Each year they travel to a remote cabin in the snow to renew this bond and reminisce about the strange little kid who wove their lives into one. But this year, something truly bizarre and unexplained is happening in the forest - all the animals are fleeing the woods in terror. And a stranger - lost, confused and obviously very unwell has stumbled into their cabin. What supernatural force lurks within this remote patch of wilderness? Worse still, what if it's headed their way? Based on the chilling Stephen King best seller and brought to life by master film-maker Lawrence Kasdan ("The Big Chill", "Silverado"), with a star studded cast including Morgan Freeman ("The Sum Of All Fears"), Thomas Jane ("Deep Blue Sea"), Damian Lewis ("Band Of Brothers"), Jason Lee ("Almost Famous"), Timothy Olyphant ("A Man Apart"), Tom Sizemore ("Black Hawk Down") and Donnie Wahlberg ("The Sixth Sense") Dreamcatcher is a brilliant, grotesque and unforgettable evocation of evil.

This is a Region 5 disc. A multi-region player may be required in order to play this disc in this part of the world.

Wow! When I saw this movie...all I could think of was "What the hell was that?!" The movie starts out well enough with the Native American mystical theme all centred around the Dream Catcher, so you think to yourself, alrighty I think this movie is gonna be something along of those mystical spiritual mumbo jumbo stuffs, but hell!...if you thought that, you'd be way...way off course. By the end the scene where the giant morphing bug like alien creatures start tearing each other to bits bit....I was pretty much gobsmacked that I actually got thru the whole movie without actually cracking up laughing...boy...what a waste of $15 bucks....read the book...skip the movie

Stephen King writes fairly good novels but his movies seem to be realized pretty poorly. This one starts out good enough and is pretty creepy when you see all the animals running to leave the forest. By the time that the movie “peaks” it’s just getting boring and kind of repetitive. Finally by the end I just couldn’t care less. Minimal scares in this one. Read one of his books instead.
