Firstly the overall series has a similiar theme to the previous two series - appearance of the "baddy" in each series. Dexter's connection/friendship with these characters in each series and eventually Dexter's realisation that this "baddy" has to go and Dexter is forced to "dispose" of these people. In Series 3 the bad guy is D A Miguel Prado, brilliantly played by Jimmie Smits. At the start of Series 3, Dexter kills Prado's brother while looking for a criminal. Prado as D A involves himself in the investigation using his "friendship" with Lt. LaGuerta (played by Lauren Velez), who is in charge of the investigation. Then Prado meets Dexter and endears himself to him. They become buddies and Prado starts to use Dexter for his own twisted agenda (under the guise of achieving justice). Nevertheless, this is addictive viewing, and i still love it!!!

Dexter season 3, follows Dexter Morgan whose secret has been figured out by district attorney Miguel Prado. Dexter then takes Miguel on as his apprentice. While all of this is going on, there is a new serial killer on the loose, who enjoys cutting of large portions of his victims skin. However when Dexter realises that Miguel isn't following Harry's Code, he makes a decision. I personally think this is the weakest season of all 4 made. There wasn't a great deal of action, and the story was somewhat predictable. However, a dexter fan will defintely love this season.
