Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.

The third and final chapter of director Sam Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy, Army Of Darkness immediately follows the events of Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn with our hero, Ash (Bruce Campbell), being sucked into a vortex which transports him to Medieval England. Initially perceived as a spy by the occupants of a royal castle under siege from the dark forces of the Deadites, he soon proves himself to the locals and is hailed as the deliverer of the Necronomicon, an ancient tome with the power to ward off the evil onslaught and the potential to return Ash to his own time.

Meanwhile, he falls in love with a local woman, Sheila (Embeth Davidtz). Unfortunately, while retrieving the book, Ash screws up the required incantation and unwittingly unleashes an army of skeletons led by his own Deadite alter ego, Evil Ash. Now he must use his 20th Century wits and skills to overcome his evil self, his possessed medieval girlfriend and the entire Army of Darkness in a battle to save the living from the dead.

The Evil Dead's third out is very different to the previous two; the first one being all out horror, the second a horror comedy, this time it's all slapstick jokes and oddball humour. Starting from where the last one left off, Ash is now stuck in the 13th century, where it is believed that he is the one who will lead an army to stop the deadites once and for all. With a huge cult following, this film can be enjoyable if you allow yourself to go along for the ride.

In this sequel to the Evil Dead films, a discount-store employee ("Name's Ash. Housewares.") is time-warped to a medieval castle beset by monstrous forces. Initially mistaken for an enemy, he is soon revealed as the prophecised savior who can quest for the Necronomicon, a book which can dispel the evil. Unfortunately, he screws up the magic words while collecting the tome, and releases an army of skeletons, led by his own Deadite counterpart. What follows is a thrilling, yet tongue-in-cheek battle between Ash's 20th Century tactics and the minions of darkness.

this was honestly a comedy. I found it so funny and well thats why you watch it. I love the line when his lets call him a clone said "Your the good you and im the bad you. your the goddy two shoes " and so one and he shot him in the head and said "im not that good" which you could so predict but had to hear him say it. it is funny because the movie was made so long ago but the main character is so macho hero like that you dont have to worry abotu it and just watch the movie.

A classic in all senses of the word, what makes this movie work is Bruce Campell who I challenge anyone to take seriously. He carries the movie with zest and vigor and has a sense of humor that is uniquely his own. The story itself is pretty cool too but obviously it doesn’t take itself or it’s premise too seriously and just lets us get down to some classic action/horror.
