Sharp Objects is a deeply disturbing and rather unpleasant story it has some vwery interesting layers on layers of sinister interconnection but its hard to take to. A moderately capable reporter who used to cut words onto her skin returns to her home town to investigate the disappearance of a young girl less than a yearnafter the brutal murder of another.

I found this book an easy read. I enjoyed the story but found the characters to be unbelievable and contrived. I would recommend it, however, if only for the ending.
