Ted Tao grew up with the Monkey King story and loves its world of fantasy and adventures to the bones. He finished reading the original Journey to the West novel in its entirety, over 1,000 pages in Chinese, when he was only eight. Then at age nine, Ted created, wrote and even illustrated a sequel to the vast classic, which was so well done that several publishers were considering publishing it. Unfortunately, the hand-written manuscript was lost in a house move ... But the dream went on. Having majored in physics at University of California, studying black hole astrophysics and such, Ted has found a miraculous link between his love of the modern scientific world of physics and his fascination of the Eastern mysticism, represented in part by the magical journey of the Monkey King. His English adaptation of the Monkey King series was thus born.
