Get a Grip is a story about the trials and tribulations of young people, targeting that 18-25 crowd, getting started in their new career after graduating from high school, trade school, college or whatever training or education precedes "real," adult living. It's a story about unemployment, underemployment, student loans, "basement living" with Mom and Dad, financial dependence, and the possibility of being the first generation in recent times that could end up worse off than their parents. Quite simply this is a book about getting a grip, overcoming those potential negatives in life and taking control or taking charge of your own personal outcomes as you enter the early stages of a career. Furthermore, it's about a set of prescriptions or critical keys to success which could greatly enrich and enhance your personal and professional life as you initially navigate those troubled and turbulent waters of early adulthood.
