It's a story about unemployment, underemployment, student loans, "basement living" with Mom and Dad, financial dependence, and the possibility of being the first generation in recent times that could end up worse off than their parents. Quite simply this is a book about getting a grip, overcoming those potential negatives in life and taking control or taking charge of your own personal outcomes as you enter the early stages of a career. Furthermore, it's about a set of prescriptions or critical keys to success which could greatly enrich and enhance your personal and professional life as you initially navigate those troubled and turbulent waters of early adulthood.

Bill Heitzig was born in 1948 and grew up in Jerseyville. After graduating from Illinois College in 1970 with a BA in History, he enlisted in the US Air Force and attended Officer's Training School and served for thirty years as a pilot in 11 different fighter, rotary wing and trainer aircraft. In addition, he served in 37 different countries and was a commander in several different positions including commanding a stateside base. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he worked for practically 10 years as an F-15 and F-22 academic and simulator instructor. He currently teaches military history in a senior's program at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City Fl. Bill has an additional MS in Far East Studies and attended National War College in Washington DC.
