An excellent introduction to phonetics, this book is very easy to follow and provides many useful performing exercises and an excellent study guide. The diagrams, though not pretty, do get their point across very well. It's not what you would call an entertaining read - you'd never want to read this if you weren't studying phonetics - but as an introduction it is brilliant. The CDROM is an wonderful idea, as it enhances your understanding of what is in the book.
